Consultation on improving worklife balance for those with chronic health issues.

We exist in a world where discussions about chronic illness and pain are often absent, both in workplaces and among freelancers. Only those who are dealing with these conditions truly grasp the difficulty of managing symptoms while trying to fulfil their roles.

For individuals wishing to work, the challenges multiply as they balance their responsibilities as freelancers or employees while managing various symptoms, often keeping their struggles hidden from colleagues and friends, which means their access needs often go unmet. When they do speak up, they may find that others are dismissive or fail to provide the compassion, accessibility, treatment, or acknowledgment they deserve.

Personally, I was in a head-on car accident eleven years ago, which left me with life-altering injuries. For the past two and a half years, I have quietly navigated chronic illness and pain while working as a freelance cultural producer, only disclosing my situation to coworkers and employers a year ago. Despite being in a demanding, fast-paced industry and lacking additional support, I successfully completed all my projects!

With a BSc in Sports Therapy and experience as a holistic practitioner, I am now focused on merging creative wellbeing with work-life balance. Currently in the process developing a resource to help us manage our professional roles more effectively and enhance our work-life balance, and I would greatly appreciate your input to improve it further.

I’d love for you to join me on this journey, as we build a supportive community that aims to make our careers safer, less stressful, and more sustainable.

There is a small remuneration for your time, and we will also have the opportunity to connect and support each other during each session.

10 spaces for the online sessions open to anyone who lives in & outside of the West Midlands. On Sat 30th Nov 11-3pm. A few spaces are left!

Together, we can make a difference.
